Use your own SIP Server DNS Name (instead of an IP)

Your voice clients usually point their phones/PBX to an IP address for the SIP server. We can customise this so your customers see your own branded DNS name instead (for example: sip.yourcompany.co.za).

If the underlying SIP IP ever changes, you just update DNS, not every device.

Use the DNS name in SIP settings exactly the same way you would use the IP.

How to set it up

  1. Log into your domain hosting / DNS provider (where your domain is hosted).
  2. Create a DNS record (usually an A record or CNAME) exactly like the example below.
  3. Send us the DNS name you created (for example: sip.yourcompany.co.za) so we can enable it on our VoIP platform.
  4. Update your client phones/PBX to use the new DNS name, and you are done.
